We occasionally have older dogs for rehoming. These may be retiring brood bitches or stud dogs, who will be placed in pet homes. These dogs are not free, we ask for usually about 1/2 the normal price. Sometimes, we may have a dog or puppy that we have bred which has been returned to us due to the new owners, for one reason or another, being unable to care for him/her any longer.

This rarely happens, but when it does, we try to find the best possible home for that particular dog.

If you would be interested in rehoming an older dog, please use the 'Contact Us' link on the right of this page.

Occasionally, we may have an adult bitch or a working stud dog for sale.

Portia

After a lot of thought, and soul searching, we have decided to rehome Portia. Portia is a very special little girl who loves nothing more than to be loved and cuddled and will give her undying love and devotion in return. We have thought long and hard about this decision, and although we love her to bits, to be fair to her, we realistically don't have the time to devote to her needs, and have come to the sad conclusion that we need to rehome her somewhere she will get the attention she deserves.

Portia is almost 2 years old, she has been with us since she was born, as we bred her. However, she has a congenital spinal condition which means that she is unable to use her back legs. It is unlikely to get worse.

Portia is a happy exuberant black Pug girl, who is in no pain or discomfort, and is healthy in every other way, although she does take medicine daily to help her control her bladder, as she has a degree of incontinence, which is usually because she just can't move fast enough to get out of her bed. Portia has a wheelchair, which she loves to spend time in both inside and out. She can toilet outside whilst in her wheels.

Portia needs a lot of attention, so would suit a fairly active retired person or couple with plenty of time, who want someone to lavish their attention on. They would preferably need to live in a bungalow with a fairly flat garden, as she can't negotiate steps (although she can move pretty fast on the flat, both with and without her wheels).

Portia need regular baths (so she doesn't smell of wee), and obviously she needs to be carried around a bit and put in and out of her wheels. She is fine with other dogs, cats, kids, in fact she loves everyone!! She loves to go in the car and can be taken anywhere you would take an able bodied dog. She would come with her crate (necessary for night and if you need to leave her unattended), beds (she needs them washing daily if they are wet), car harness, coat and toys. Portia has been spayed to avoid messy seasons.

If you think that you are the right person or family for Portia, please use the contact form, or give us a ring on the number at the bottom of the page and arrange to come and meet her. We are in no hurry to rehome her, as finding the right home for her is of paramount importance to us, so it will be our ultimate decision where she goes.
